Treatment
To date, there is no recorded cure for Edward’s syndrome. This, of course, forces doctors to face hard decisions when treating their patients. Treatments are used to help the individual symptoms instead of the disorder itself (Eg, Nasogastric or gastrostomy feeding).
Surgical procedures may be used to treat some issues, however due to the patient’s cardiac health surgery may be more invasive than helpful to the patients well-being. Today, treatment consists of palliative, or non-intrusive, care. |
